Use a Mug as a Gift Basket

You can use a mug as a gift basket! All you’ll need are a few materials to put it together.

You’ll need clear cellophane. It comes in rolls. See “PRODUCTS” below.

I’m using the 30” wide cellophane. Roll it out on a flat surface. Set the mug in the center with the tallest items inside the mug. (In the photo I have some hot chocolate mix in a cone shape and some candied nuts in a tall package.) Adjust the amount of cellophane that is rolled out so that when you pull up the sides of the cellophane, it reaches about 5 inches above the tallest treat. Cut the cellophane off of the roll.

Add the rest of the goodies into the mug. You can use clear tape to tape items to one another so that they look good. Add some metallic shred around the base of the mug.

Tuck some shred into the edges of the mug.

Pull up the sides of the cellophane.

Scrunch the cellophane above the top of the tallest items and hold the scrunch with one hand. With the other hand, pull off pieces of clear tape and tape the scrunched part all around.

Use scissors to trim the top part of the cellophane into points.

Tie on a ribbon. Make a handmade bow and attach the bow.

What a great gift presentation!
