My Cataract Surgeries!

I had cataract surgery on both eyes and vlogged about the experience on my YouTube channel!

This is certainly something I never thought I’d have to do, especially at my age. But, it happens. Remember, I grew up eating Twinkies, Ho Ho’s, and Ding Dongs, and didn’t change my diet until I was 38. It’s still a mystery why people get cataracts (according to my ophthalmologist), but I’ve read that eating sugar may have something to do with it. :D

While they don’t put patients under actual anesthesia, at my eye surgery center they do give patients a liquid to relax them. So you don’t want to miss my “surgery day video” where I did some talking shortly after the surgery and then give an update later in the day. I tried to remember as much as possible to tell you some details and highlights of the experience.

The day after surgery on my first eye, I give you an update of how the eye feels, what I can see, etc. My surgeon also schedules his patients on the morning of Day #1 for a check up. Click the image above to find out how that day was going.

Finally, I got to wear makeup again (but have to remove it carefully!). Click the image above to find out what was going on during day #4.
