Boost Your Immunity with this Lemon Tea
This lemon tea with immunity boosters will help to keep you well through cold and flu season and, if you do get sick, drinking it will help you get well faster.
Besides lemon, this tea has fresh ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and black pepper, plus a dash of sweetener to sweeten it up.
Use the vegetable peeler to peel the rind off of 1 lemon.
Slice a 2 inch piece of fresh ginger.
Slice a 2 inch length of fresh turmeric.
Pour 5 cups of filtered water into a large saucepan. Add the lemon peel, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
Heat the pan until it simmers. Let it simmer for 7 minutes.
Meanwhile, juice the lemon, remove the seeds, and set the juice aside.
After 7 minutes of simmering, strain the liquid into a large glass pitcher or heat proof bowl. Add the lemon juice and stir.
Pour yourself a cup of tea. Add a teaspoon of sweetener, such as honey or maple syrup.

INGREDIENT LIST:
1 Lemon (you'll use the lemon peel and the lemon juice)
Fresh Ginger - about a 2 inch length
Fresh Turmeric - about a 2 inch length (if you can't find fresh turmeric, use 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder)
Dash of Cayenne Pepper
Dash of Black Pepper
5 cups filtered water
For each resulting cup (8 ounces) of the tea, add 1 teaspoon of sweetener, such as maple syrup or honey.
