My Purchases During Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty - Anastasia, St. Tropez, IT, tarte, Becca
I get choosy when deciding which products to buy during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty. I reviewed the items I purchased during the September 2019 event in the associated video (linked further below!). This is my favorite semi-annual event that Ulta sponsors every March and September. Every day for 21 days, they have 3 or 4 (sometimes 5!) prestige brand products of skincare and makeup that are discounted - usually at 50% off. It’s a great time to try products you’ve been eyeing and wanting to buy.
I already own the Anastasia Brow Whiz and thought I’d try the Anastasia Brow Definer in the same color, “Taupe”. It’s basically the same product, but in a different shape.
I’ve tried samples of the DHC Deep Cleaning Oil before, so at half price, I purchased a whole bottle. It removes makeup fairly well.
This is the first time I’ve purchased a St. Tropez product, mainly because of the price. This “Express” product is designed to be on the skin for 1 to 3 hours and then you rinse off the residue (the “guide”). See the video for my full analysis and what I think works better.
This is my first purchase of the IT foundation. BTW, during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty, you can purchase two of each product that is on sale. This foundation is the fullest coverage foundation I’ve ever owned. Using a brush or beauty blender to blend it out is important to get a good look with it.
A lot of people talk about tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer. I haven’t wanted to pay full price for it. So this was a good time to try it. For having a doe-foot applicator, it does give pretty good coverage. (Any other concealer I’ve tried in the past that has a doe foot applicator has been too thin and didn’t cover well.)
While this Becca Hydramist Set & Refresh Powder is a nice powder, when you apply it with a brush, it feels wet on your face! If you touch the powder with your finger, it feels dry. Weird?! It has a nice netting where I’m touching it in the photo above which keeps the powder inside. I’m typically not a fan of loose powders because of the mess, but I like this one.
The Cannuka CBD Healing Skin Balm is a lovely balm with a very light citrus scent. I’m not sure if it’s healing any of my skin issues, but it feels good and it’s not oily.
Because I bought two of the skin balm products, I received a gift with purchase of the Cannuka CBD Hydrating Lip Balm. It also has a very light citrus scent. I keep it handy in a kitchen drawer to apply whenever my lips feel dry.
