Makeup and Skincare Products – Spend or Save?

Spend or Save - Beauty Products - thumbnail.jpg

Should you SPEND or SAVE on certain makeup & skincare products? I reviewed many more items in the video than I’ll post here, so make sure to click the link to the video below to see my review of the entire list!

I’ll show you one SAVE here and several of my SPEND recommendations. Under “PRODUCTS” in this post all of the products are listed, whether I recommended as a SAVE or a SPEND.

Let’s start with Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Moisturizer. I wanted to like this. I really did. It was recommended by another YouTuber. It’s pricey! It made my face a little bit less luminous than it usually is. I don’t want to spend that kind of money to look worse! SAVE!

After experiencing a good vitamin C serum for 6 months, I wouldn’t be without it! Whether I’m purchasing the Timeless 20% Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Acid Serum or making my own “DIY” serum, this has been a game-changer. It’s a definite SPEND.

Recommended to me by someone at my gym, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is now my all-time favorite mascara. I started using it before using Careprost to grow my lashes. When my lashes were shorter, this mascara was great. Now that my lashes are longer, it’s even better. Benefit also makes a smaller version of this mascara for half the price of the full size. SPEND.

If you want your lashes to have just a little bit more volume after the first coat from the Benefit Roller Lash, use this L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara right after the first application. It looks like the wand would make this mascara a lengthener, but it’s really a thickener. SPEND.

This is still my favorite way to buff out my foundation in an easy, quick manner. And you can’t beat the price of this E.L.F. Powder Brush (or what I call the "stipple brush"). As of this writing, this is a $6 brush! SPEND.

My first anti-aging secret is my full-spectrum, mineral-based facial sunscreen by Paula’s Choice. She has many kinds of sunscreens to choose from for different skin types. If the large selection is baffling and you are over 40 years old, I’d suggest this Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF30. It gives a bit of a white-ish tint for about 15 minutes due to the zinc oxide ingredient. But that goes away. SPEND.
