Easy Way to Clean Brass Hardware
Do you have brass hardware in your home that is dark and dingy? This is an easy way to clean brass items you have in your home such as dresser drawer knobs and candlesticks.
You’ll need a large bottle of white distilled vinegar.
Use a pan that will fit all of the brass items you want to clean. Put your items into the pan and pour the white distilled vinegar into the pan until all of the items are covered.
Turn on the heat and bring the vinegar to a boil. When the vinegar is boiling, set a timer for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, turn off the heat. Remove the brass items with tongs and set it on paper towels on your kitchen counter.
Purchase “0000” steel wool (also called “four zero steel wool”) at your hardware store.
Use one 0000 steel wool pad to polish the brass. Use it to get into nooks and crannies and to buff it to a shiny appearance.
