How I Got Long Lashes When I Was 57!
One of my favorite products is something YouTube doesn't like! What is it? It's my generic Latisse product I've used to make my lashes longer.
The generic name is Bimatoprost. This solution comes in a 3 ml bottle. At the time of this writing (February 2024), a 3 ml bottle of Latisse will cost you about $120.
I purchase 3 bottles of the Bimatoprost 0.03% (which goes by the name "Careprost") every time I purchase, and it comes with an applicator brush. The shipping cost is $18. At the time of this writing, 3 bottles with a brush is $54.45, add shipping of $18, and the total is $72.45 for 3 bottles. That comes to $24.15 per 3 ml bottle! (I'm saving $95.85 per bottle!)
Shipping takes a while because it is shipped from outside the US. When I open the third bottle, I place an order for the next 3 bottles.
I've purchased the generic Bimatoprost for several years. I started using it in 2017, and by February 2018 my lashes were so much longer - I was pleasantly surprised.
My lashes are still blonde-ish, so without mascara they're a little hard to see. But once I apply mascara, my lashes are super long.
In these before & after photos, the "before" photos were taken by a professional photographer. I'm wearing a lot of mascara in the "before" photos, but my lashes were short.
Compare to the "after" photos! That's how my lashes look.
How I Apply the Careprost Product to My Lashes
To apply the Careprost to my lashes, I place a fraction of a drop into a small dish. I use a soy sauce dish since it's small and I keep the dish in the bathroom.
After I wash my face at night, I apply 3 or 4 swipes of the Careprost liquid only my upper lashes using the brush. (I don't apply it to my lower lashes.)

My favorite mascara is Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara, although the elf Lash 'N Roll Mascara is a great dupe! And for my lower lashes, I still prefer to use Maybelline's Full 'N Soft Mascara.

From time to time, my Careprost vendor adds or deletes payment methods. Because of this, every time I place an order, when I'm logged in to my account, I place the products into my shopping cart. Then I call them by phone. Per their Contact page, their toll-free number is answered from 5 am to 1:30 am Pacific Time. In other words, they're open to take your call 19 1/2 hours a day. Once I have a customer service representative on the phone, we work out how I'm going to pay.
Several times I have chosen to mail a check to their vendor in the US. When I do that, I include a print-out of my order so there is no mistaking which order I'm paying for. Their vendor informs them of my payment, and the order proceeds from there.
