Concealer, Eyeshadow, & Lip Color for Women Over 50

The experience with makeup is so different after 50 than it is in our 20s and 30s! I’m demo’ing 3 products for how they apply and perform on my mature face.

I bought only 3 prestige products with a 20% off coupon at Ulta, so I really restrained myself. The Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer, Smashbox Minimalist Eye Palette, & Clinique Colour Pop Lip Color in “Nude Pop”.

Benefit’s Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer comes with a doe-foot applicator. It reminds me of Tarte’s Shape Tape. I chose a color (#5) that is more peach to cover the tear troughs under my eyes and the dark circles.

First I applied two dots under each eye.

I lightly patted it under each eye.

Then I used a damp beauty blender to blend it out.

Next, I applied foundation from Clinique - the Even Better foundation in the color “Breeze”. After that a bit of powder (Becca’s Hydramist) on the cheeks and nose. Then a bit of blush - Clinique’s Cheek Pop in “Nude Pop”.

This palette has two large pans - the one on the top left is a light shimmer shade. The one on the right is a light creamy matte shade.

The smaller pans below show three in warm colors and three in cool colors. Since I’m wearing blue, I’m going to use the cooler shades which are nice taupes.

After starting with the light cream matte color all over the eye area, I used the light taupe color as a transition shade.

Using a small brush, I applied the darker shade in the outer “V”.

I applied the cooler shimmer shade on the outer mobile lid.

I finished the shadow using the lighter shimmer shade on the top left of the palette on the inner and middle mobile lid.

My third new product is the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in "Nude Pop". (The same color name as my blush!) This is a nice, creamy lipstick that feels good and is unscented (as are all of Clinique’s products).

Most colors in the Colour Pop line are bright and bold. I really can’t get away with wearing those colors any longer. The “Nude Pop” color works well for me.

Here is a close-up of the lipstick. Isn’t that a nice color?
