Anti-Aging Nighttime Skincare Routine
Nighttime is a perfect time to allow our skin to repair and rejuvenate. Our skincare routine in the evening is a key part of that process. I'll show you what I'm using now for my nighttime skincare routine that will be easy for you to duplicate and to customize it to fit your skin's needs.
My skincare routine is for more mature skin, especially over 50, but people over 40 will also find it helpful.
My cleanser to remove every bit of makeup, including eye makeup, is Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. This is a hidden gem! It doesn’t actually foam on your face. It’s a creamy cleanser that rinses off easily.
To remove the last bit of makeup in the hairline, I like to use a micellar water on a cotton pad. Garnier has a regular version and a waterproof version. I also really like the CVS store brand, which is a little cheaper than Garnier.
Four nights a week I use the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel. They recommended this to me several years ago and I’ve been using it ever since. I do better with BHA than I do with AHA and I like the gel formula best. It’s an exfoliator and works well with my sensitive skin.
Three nights a week (when I’m not using the BHA product), I use the RoC Retinol Correxion Max Wrinkle Resurfacing System. A little bit does my whole face.
Next, I use my serums starting with a vitamin C serum – the Timeless 20% Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Acid Serum (or my DIY vitamin C serum). I’ll mix the C serum in the palm of my hand with a second serum, such as the Timeless Matrixyl 3000 Serum with Hyaluronic Acid or the Timeless Coenzyme Q10 Serum.
Moisturizer comes next. I have two that I like for the nighttime. Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer or the CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. Both have a lot of great ingredients that are good for skin.
I use Careprost every night (the generic Latisse) to get long lashes (it really works!). I use a small brush to brush on a small amount of Careprost to my lashes.
Last, I like to use a lip balm at night and the Nivea - A Kiss of Moisture lip balm in the dark blue packaging is my favorite because it’s unscented!
